The Middle School experience at The Willow School promotes the love of learning through a rigorous yet supportive academic program. During this learning process, the individual talents of students are nurtured while the individual needs are supported in a collaborative atmosphere. Critical thinking and preparation for higher learning are primary focal points of the Middle School. Middle school students are challenged to consider the essential question, “Who am I?” Their learning experiences are constructed to assist them in knowing the answer to that question when they move to the next level of their education. The entire Middle School takes a four day adventure trip in September to solidify their awareness of themselves as a significant part of a group. The Willow students come to know themselves as individuals who can be both leaders and members in a group, understand the intrinsic value of a multi-faceted education, and develop the capacity to effect positive change in the world.
