Giving Together: Willow’s Human Chain

On November 17, The Willow School’s Thanksgiving Food Drive concluded with a human chain, where students, teachers, and parents passed the donated goods from a schoolhouse to The Food Bank Network of Somerset County’s waiting vehicle.

All of our students and teachers and many parents participated in this human chain, where students thoughtfully and joyfully embraced giving as a community.

Willow donated well over 1,200 food items, including 35 turkeys, meeting our goal of feeding at least 30 local families for the holiday weekend. The drive was led by Willow’s fourth graders and their middle school buddies. Read more about their service leadership here

Special thanks to Dean’s Natural Food Market, ShopRite of Chester and Branchburg, Kings Food Market of Bedminster, and the Leong and Turpin families for their donations.
